Advanced Patrol Rifle (APR)

$595.00Course Overview
After the deadly North Hollywood Bank Robbery shootout in 1997, the Patrol Rifle has been a staple in American Law Enforcement. Then with the Columbine School shooting occurring in 1999, it was apparent that our tactics needed to change as well. When faced with extremely violent suspects, the first responding officers were often outgunned before these tragedies. The Patrol Rifle provides the uniformed officer the ability to quickly move to engage these vicious suspects with a more powerful, more accurate, and higher round capacity weapon and not be at a severe disadvantage upon arrival. In our view, the Patrol Rifle is one of Law Enforcement’s most valuable tools in the last twenty-five years. Due to the weapon’s relative ease of operation and accuracy, most trained officers have no problem with a qualification or hitting targets at an extended distance giving the officer a false sense of security. Our Advanced Patrol Rifle course will sharpen the operator’s existing skills and introduce new tactics and techniques to make them more effective when deploying the carbine during real-world deadly force situations, not just on the square range. Areas of instruction will include shooting responses, methods of carrying, shooting on the move, shooting positions, proper use of barricades, distance shooting, shoot house exercises, and rapid deployment drills.
Enrollment: Restricted to law enforcement, government agencies, and Department of Defense.
