Protective Emergency Casualty Care (PECC)

Course Details

Executive Protection or personal security specialists wear many hats during the execution of their duties and being a first responder to medical emergencies is no exception.  Challenges can include minor bumps and bruises, injuries to associates or family, care in austere environments, attacks on the principal, and self-initiated evacuation.  Day 1 of PECC is a full 8-hours focused on protection-centric trauma management, tools, techniques, and treatment procedures.  Training prepares personal security professionals for first response to physical trauma and medical emergencies on the street, in venues, in vehicles, on travel, or at the principal’s residence.  In addition to trauma care, students will receive instruction in CPR, Basic First Aid, and AED operation (Automated External Defibrillator).  Day 2 is an additional eight hours of scenario-based training designed to expose students to greater ambiguity, fluidity, and decision-making.  Through the use of moulage, trained role-players, varying lighting conditions, and a multitude of other artificial stressors, training is brought into a whole new realm of realism and effectiveness. PECC training is recognized by NAEMT; the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians. Successful completion of PECC earns graduates their Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) Certification, 16 hours of continuing education for medical professionals, and is valid for three years.
