Fundamental Carbine Skills is a 5hr introductory course designed to provide students with safe, efficient, and effective defensive carbine skills. Students will receive a mixture of lecture, practical, and live-fire instruction aimed at familiarizing them with their carbine, how it works and how to consistently achieve accurate first round hits on target. This class is great for beginners looking to learn new skills or shooters looking to fine-tune previously learned skills.

Course content will include but is not limited to:

Firearms Safety & Range Etiquette

Carbine Nomenclature/Maintenance

Preparatory Gun-Handling (Loading, Condition Check & Unloading)

Zeroing

Fundamentals of Marksmanship

Shooting Responses

Ready & Carry Positions

Pre-Requisites:

None

Course/Student Equipment:

• Serviceable semi-automatic carbine 5.56 or .223 caliber preferred
• 300 rounds (estimated) of serviceable rifle ammunition
• Carbine magazine pouches/carry system, belt or chest rig, pockets can be used.
• Sling (if desired)
• Three Thirty Round carbine magazines
• Hearing Protection and Eye Protection
• Hat with Brim, Clothing, and shoes appropriate for outdoor range environment and weather conditions
• Handguns are not required for this course
