Course Overview

This five-day certification program includes three days of handgun skills training, two days focused on security saturation and crisis response tactics, and scenario training. The first three days of training, Module 1, are tailored for armed security officers who are expected to carry a handgun while performing their duties. The training involves classroom instruction, practical drills on the range, and assessment methods designed to evaluate individual knowledge, safety, and proficiency with a semi-automatic handgun.

  • Combative Gun-Handling (reloads & malfunction clearances)
  • One-Handed Pistol Operation
  • Multiple Threat Engagements & Reactive Movement Drills
  • Threat Discrimination & Deadly Force Decision Drills
  • Limited Scope Performance Test (LSPT) Introduction, Practice, & Qualification
  • Handgun Live Fire Skills Tests (LFST) – Introduction & Practice

 

Module 2 aims to transform a competent weapons carrier into a safe, responsible, and effective armed first responder. This module builds on the instruction from Module 1 by teaching students to make sound decisions and employ effective tactics during violent, rapidly unfolding crisis events. Knowing how to shoot is not sufficient. Armed security professionals tasked with saving lives must understand when, where, and whom to engage—and how to do so effectively amidst other first responders and innocent bystanders.

Length: 5 Days

Enrollment: Open to active security professionals, law enforcement, the Department of Defense, government agencies, eligible government contractors, and approved civilians with a security industry affiliation.

Cost: $1625.00 per student

Student Equipment

Please bring all listed mandatory equipment selecting only a proven, reliable kit. Failing to do so may negatively impact training. Should you have any questions, logistical or otherwise, do not hesitate to contact us. 

  • Standard range attire while conducting firearms training (weather-appropriate activewear, etc.) 
  • Sturdy footwear (boots, hiking shoes, etc.) 
  • Semi-automatic handgun with at least 3 magazines 
  • A semi-automatic rifle with at least three magazines 
  • Rifle ammunition carriage system; vest and or belt-mounted pouches 
  • Support-side handgun magazine carrier (single or double pouches okay) 
  • Eye protection & hearing protection 
  • Hat with brim & sunscreen 
  • Knee pads / Elbow pads (optional) 

** Blackhawk Serpa model holsters are strictly prohibited during live-fire range training and banned in all PFC Training classes for safety reasons. For copies of PFCs and the Federal Government’s policies regarding the use of Blackhawk Serpa holsters, contact PFC HQ.

  • WEAPON RENTALS – If you require weapon rentals from PFC, please be sure to add the rental to your ticket at the time of purchase, and immediately notify Training Coordinator, Amanda Dunn at Amanda@pfcgoc.com or call 702-647-1126, to confirm rental availability and pickup details. 
  • AMMO – If you require ammo from PFC Loadout, please purchase at pfcloadout.com, adding course name and date in the notes, and notify Training Coordinator, Amanda Dunn at Amanda@pfcgoc.com or call 702-647-1126, to confirm availability and pickup details. 
  • DEADLINE – Rentals and ammo MUST be purchased NLT 2 days prior to the course beginning.
