Course Overview

CLOSED COURSE

Home Invasion Defense and Education 1 (HIDE-1)

If an intruder is in your home, you must get out or defend in place.  Home Invasion Defense & Education is an eye-opening 1-day class that teaches armed citizens how to evacuate their homes or defend what’s most valuable safely. Through lectures, technical drilling, and practical exercises, students will learn about home defense concepts, basic structure clearing, defense-in-place methods, and armed tactical movement when evacuating the home.  This class is ideal for anyone who owns a firearm and is concerned about what to do in the event of a home invasion.  Training topics include practical weapon storage in the home, home defense planning and at-the-ready kit, principles of home defense, use-of-force, home invasion scenarios, and decision-making, calling the police, building traits & nomenclature, fundamental armed movement in the home, low-light principles & tactics, applying direct action strategies, tactical problem-solving under duress, and what to do/expect when things are safe.  Instruction includes dry training with inert weapons and dye marking cartridge training with non-lethal specially converted weapons. No live ammunition or firearms are required, and there are no prerequisites to attend.

Home Invasion Defense and Education 2 (HIDE-2)

Home Invasion Defense & Education 2 (HIDE-2) is a next-level 1-day class that builds on the knowledge and skills learned in HIDE-1.  Through technical drilling and scenario-based training, students will further exercise home defense concepts, defense-in-place strategies, and armed tactical movement inside their homes.  Training topics include more in-depth close-quarters tactics for living spaces, negotiating hallways & doorways, room entry, searching for threats and family, verbal commands, partner tactics, managing, and moving family members, hard-pointing, crisis evacuation, low-light applications, 4-Dimensional Firearm Defense, and reality-based home invasion scenarios.  Dye marking cartridge training includes “Force-on-Target” and “Force-on-Role-player” drilling, which allow students to exercise their tactics and decision-making before exposure to Force-on-Force evolutions.
