
Chris Melendez
Senior Staff Instructor
Chris Melendez brings to PFC a diverse and uniquely qualified background of instructional capabilities and operational expertise. Chris served over 20 years in law enforcement, and recently retired as a Supervisor on a multi-jurisdictional drug task force for a border state in the southwest U.S. In this assignment he was responsible for conducting covert operations in both urban and rural environments to combat major drug trafficking and money laundering groups.
Prior to his retirement, Chris served for 12 years as tactical team leader responsible for addressing hundreds of high risk/tactical situations. During this assignment he has held nearly every role to include entry and sniper team leader, training unit supervisor, and sniper.
Chris was also a POST Certified Lead Instructor with his agency where he routinely instructed firearms, entry weapons and tactics, precision rifle, and active shooter response. His responsibilities further included actively teaching this material to numerous other local, state and federal entities.
Chris is a respected member of the PFC cadre instructing weapons and tactics during Restricted Programs for military and law enforcement personnel. Currently, Chris serves as PFC Safeguards’ Director of Protective Services for Arizona where he manages and leads protective operations throughout the Southwest United States.
