Basic Semi-automatic Pistol Operator Training (BSPOT)
Course Details
BSPOT is PFC’s 40-hour initial armed officer program ideal for personnel with limited to no firearms experience. Designed for the incumbent armed employee and those who aspire to be employed in a position requiring them to carry a handgun, this course includes classroom instruction, practical drilling on the range, and testing methods designed to qualify operator knowledge, safety, and proficiency with a semi-automatic pistol. Topics presented in this course include, but are not limited to: Legal, Use-of-Force, and Training Considerations; Weapons Safety; System Nomenclature and Functioning; Administrative Weapons Handling; Disassembly; Maintenance; Reassembly and Function Testing; PFC’s Fundamentals of Marksmanship; Ready Positions; Open & Concealed Presentations; PFC’s Shooting Responses; Combative Marksmanship; Ranges of Engagement; Combative Weapons Handling; After-Action Procedures; System Re-Function; One-Handed Shooting, Bilateral Shooting; Shooting Positions; LSPT Introduction and Practice; a Written Examination; LSPT Review and Test; and Multiple Live Fire Skills Tests.
