The subject matter comprises the most progressive and relevant doctrine for individuals seeking instruction in new EP practices. \n  \nProtective Pistol Skills (PPS) is the weapons-centric component of PSOC and is entirely range-based. This format allows students to focus on the safe and practical use of a concealed handgun during protective operations. Students will learn individual and team-based firearms tactics as they apply to third-person/principal defense. \n  \nThe primary goal of PSOC is to educate and train those tasked with protective operations professionally. Regardless of background or current assignment\, students are trained to operate as a team. It is critical that protection agents exhibit professionalism\, demonstrate fluid proficiency\, and act with confidence in their abilities. To achieve and enforce this\, students are held to a high standard and expected to perform during training. De-escalation\, communication between officers and suspects\, and effective low-level control options will be taught and trained.  \n  \nThe fundamental principles taught include the following: \n-The Four Foundational PJJ Principles \n-Three sub-categories to control any suspect \n-Fundamental principles to score a high percentage LEO based takedowns \n-Team tactics and communication to control suspects and achieve custody \n-Core ground control strategies to control suspects and achieve custody effectively and safely \n-Segmenting- The core PJJ System of safe and effective ground control \n-Wall control to custody if walls are available in the training environment \n-Dealing with suspect resistance in close quarters\, including attempted strikes\, attempted weapon grabs or presentations and refusing to obey verbal commands and present arms for handcuffing \n-A custody system based on dominant position and physical control as the primary delivery system as opposed to strikes or intermediate weapon systems \n  \nThe C4C PJJ Vehicle Extraction Tactics (C4CPJJ-VET) curriculum focuses on de-escalation\, communication\, vehicle assessment\, and team tactics to remove uncooperative suspects from vehicles. Decision factors include the vehicle’s mobility\, the crime committed\, the type of suspect vehicle\, and whether the suspect is known to be armed. Officers learn when to execute an extraction and\, just as importantly\, when patrol should not attempt a suspect extraction. Topics include communication details\, team tactics with specific roles for officers\, including team approach\, lethal coverage\, hands-on/extraction tactics\, and team custody details\, when to disengage\, not to perform an extraction\, or turn the situation over to a tactical team. The C4C VET course includes a PowerPoint chalk talk and lesson plan for attendees.  \n  \nAll curriculum complies with the use of force case law and LEO best practices of using reasonable force to overcome suspect resistance. DESCRIPTION:Despite the proliferation of concealed carry weapon licenses being issued for responsible citizens or security professionals\, none of these programs teach or train the end user to work with and from a covered weapon. Off-duty or plainclothes law enforcement officers do not receive adequate training from their agencies regarding carrying and drawing concealed weapons. Combative Concealed Handgun (CCH) is a one-day program designed to teach the necessary skills to safely carry and dynamically present a handgun from concealment during use-of-force encounters. Students will be taught different techniques for deploying their handguns from various concealed carry methods and positions. Topics covered will include wardrobe selection and modification\, support equipment\, legal considerations\, use of force doctrine\, methods of concealment and deployment\, progressive handgun skills\, intensive concealed weapon drilling\, and unconventional tactics for accessing and fighting with a concealed handgun. Training includes combative handgun skills applicable to personal security\, Principal Cover & Control Techniques\, Lone Agent Protective Shooting (LAPS) Drills\, Detail Assault Response & Evacuation (DARE) Drills\, and the PSOC/PPS Live Fire Skills Test.
