SUMMARY:Protective Security Operations Certification (PSOC)
DESCRIPTION:PSOC is designed exclusively for private security\, Federal Government\, DoD\, and law enforcement professionals interested in learning modern methods for executive protection and personal security of high net-worth or ‘at-risk’ individuals. This five-day certification program is approved for training by multiple Federal Government\, state\, and corporate organizations\, and is the only major university accredited protective services training program in the United States. \n  \nPSOC consists of (2) two training modules: Protection Agent Development (four days) and Protective Pistol Skills (one day). \n  \nProtection Agent Development (PAD) teaches contemporary skills for low visibility personal security in permissive to semi-permissive environments where a low to moderate threat exists. This highly academic and practical application-based training course creates a comprehensive and balanced foundation for prospective or current members of protective details. The subject matter comprises the most progressive and relevant doctrine currently available for individuals seeking instruction in new EP practices. \n  \nProtective Pistol Skills (PPS) is the weapons-centric component of PSOC and is entirely range-based. This format allows students to focus their attention on the safe and practical use of a concealed handgun during protective operations. Students will learn both individual and team-based tactics with firearms as they apply to third-person/principal defense. \n  \nThe primary goal of PSOC is to professionally educate and train those tasked with protective operations. Regardless of background or current assignment\, students are trained to operate as a team. It is critical that protection agents exhibit professionalism\, demonstrate fluid proficiency\, and act with confidence in their abilities. To achieve and enforce this\, students are held to a high standard and expected to perform during training. This is a certification course where various forms of testing and evaluation are utilized to measure the requisite knowledge\, skills\, and abilities for graduation. Attendance does not guarantee completion. Protection Agent Development (Module 1) and Protective Pistol Skills (Module 2) may be taken separately if desired. However\, both modules must be successfully completed within a 12-month period in order to earn the full PSOC certificate. \n  \nPre-requisite: None. \n  \nEnrollment: Open to active security professionals\, law enforcement\, Department of Defense\, government agencies\, eligible government contractors\, and approved civilians with a security industry affiliation. \n  \nAll applicants must be approved to register: \nPlease submit a Restricted Program Approval Request \nA course registration link will be sent upon approval.  \n  \nCommercial Cost: $1\,795.00 \n  \nGSA Cost: $1\,316.00

SUMMARY:Combative Concealed Handgun (CCH)
DESCRIPTION:Despite the proliferation of concealed carry weapon licenses issued for responsible citizens or security professionals\, none of these programs teach or train the end-user Combative Concealed Handgun (CCH) to work with and from a covered weapon. Also\, off-duty or plainclothes law enforcement officers do not receive adequate training from their agencies when it comes to carrying and drawing their concealed weapons. This one-day program is designed to teach the necessary skills to safely carry and dynamically present a handgun from concealment during use-of-force encounters. Students will be taught different techniques for deploying their handgun from a variety of concealed carry methods and positions. Topics covered will include wardrobe selection and modification\, support equipment\, legal considerations\, use of force doctrine\, methods of concealment and deployment\, progressive handgun skills\, intensive concealed weapon drilling\, and unconventional tactics for accessing and fighting with a concealed handgun. This course is a must for any responsible concealed weapon carrier. \n  \nPre-requisite: None \n  \nEnrollment: Open \n

SUMMARY:Advanced Patrol Rifle (APR)
DESCRIPTION:After the deadly North Hollywood Bank Robbery shootout in 1997\, the Patrol Rifle has been a staple in American Law Enforcement. Then with the Columbine School shooting occurring in 1999\, it was apparent that our tactics needed to change as well. When faced with extremely violent suspects\, the first responding officers were often outgunned before these tragedies. The Patrol Rifle provides the uniformed officer the ability to quickly move to engage these vicious suspects with a more powerful\, more accurate\, and higher round capacity weapon and not be at a severe disadvantage upon arrival. In our view\, the Patrol Rifle is one of Law Enforcement’s most valuable tools in the last twenty-five years. Due to the weapon’s relative ease of operation and accuracy\, most trained officers have no problem with a qualification or hitting targets at an extended distance giving the officer a false sense of security. Our Advanced Patrol Rifle course will sharpen the operator’s existing skills and introduce new tactics and techniques to make them more effective when deploying the carbine during real-world deadly force situations\, not just on the square range. Areas of instruction will include shooting responses\, methods of carrying\, shooting on the move\, shooting positions\, proper use of barricades\, distance shooting\, shoot house exercises\, and rapid deployment drills. \n  \nEnrollment: Restricted to law enforcement\, government agencies\, and Department of Defense.
