Active Violence Event Response Tactics Instructor Certification (AVERT-IC)
Course Details
The AVERT-IC represents a bold step in the necessary evolution of officer response to the active shooter or attacker. Historical and recent events have shown us variance in numbers, execution, techniques and tactics of the aggressor(s). We must remain vigilant and flexible to an unknown and unknowable combination of circumstances unfolding on an accelerated timeline. Through this course, officers will be introduced to the most progressive instructor development techniques for learning and teaching active violence response concepts, case studies, critical incident management, solo & team tactical firearms training, structure clearing, overland/exposed space operations, tactical trauma care, and indomitable mindset. Students will be evaluated through both written and performance-based evaluations designed to measure knowledge, skills and abilities as an instructor. Successful graduates will be better prepared to enhance their own student’s capabilities and survivability upon completion. First responders in any organization, public or private, must be competent in these areas for managing and resolving the trend of active violence incidents.
